Main
Features of the Wireless Motion Detector Alarm
You can get a motoin detector alarm that is wireless and operates
on batteries only.
How does a wireless motion detector alarm work?
What are it's main features?
The wireless motion detector can be a part of
an alarm system to secure a home or a business.
It would detect movement in a room,
an open space or a yard, a parking space etc.
Since it is a wireless device it can easily be installed anywhere.
The wireless motion detector can even be placed on a table or hung
on a wall in minutes.
A wireless motion detector alarm system may include more than just
one sensor and have a base unit to controls the system.
Some wireless detectors use a PIR (Passive Infrared) sensor that
monitors heat changes in the area. The detector can be set to sense
temperature changes and alert. A signal would be then sent to the
base unit that would respond by using lights, sound or any other
automatic response it is set to use.
Once the base unit receives a signal sent by the detector it may
sound an alarm, a ring, a chime, it may turn on the lights, turn
on a strobe light or a projector. One other thing the base unit
can do is send a signal to a security company that monitors the
system or placing a phone call or a text message to a pre set phone
number. This way the home or business owner would be notified that
someone had entered the premises or that there is an intruder there.
Most wireless motion detector alarm systems can sensor and alert
when a window is opened, a door is opened or even when a fire starts.
Some alarm systems have additional features to provide a higher
level of security.
One important feature pet owners should consider is that a dog can
set off the alarm by its presence, so it would be best to get a
pet immune system.
